Project Stargate was the collective name of several sub-projects run by the U.S. military and intelligence agencies designed to investigate psychic phenomena and their potential for intelligence gathering.
The chief phenomena investigated was remote viewing- the ability to psychically view events and collect information from a great distance.
The project ran from the 1970s to 1995, and at its conclusion, a study revealed a statistically significant effect with psychically gifted subjects scoring 5%-15% above chance.
